Research and Teaching Interests:
James K. Lein holds three degrees in Geography: a B.A. degree from San Francisco State University, an M.A. degree from San Jose State University, and a Ph.D. degree from Kent State University. He is currently a Professor of Geography at Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, where his teaching focuses on environmental geography, planning, physical geography and geographic techniques. His research interests are focused on monitoring of land-use/land-cover change, the integration of remote sensing and GIS in natural hazard risk assessment, and the incorporation of artificial intelligence methods in environmental decision making. He has been an active member of the EGLR Membership Committee for the last two years.
